September 1st, 2017 is here and we are ready to set sail. Tomorrow morning we will leave this glorious (in the summer months) South Beach Marina, and head out on our 8 month voyage. It has been a very busy two weeks with last minute preparations. The first stop will be Cresent City, California.
We decided at the last minute to take our folding bikes that bought about 15 years ago for another cruise that never happened. We have much less space this time and I was the doubter on this one. But Dan thought we could do it. So we cleaned the bikes and packed them away in their carry bags and now they are stowed in the V-Birth
.

I finished the last "sewing project" which was a kayak seat Dan's SUP board. That way they can be also used as a sit-up-on kayak. Now we have two kayak seats to rider the waves with. Below the SUP boards are stowed on deck for the ride south.
Dan put the cars on a trickle charge system in the barn, as we will not be needing them for awhile. This way we hope the batteries will work upon our return.

Malo is ready, we are ready and the ocean is waiting! This is our last evening in Newport, Oregon!
Bon Voyage!
Safe Passage, We will follow you down the coast.
