We decided to stay an extra couple of days in this majestic bay. This was a view of the sunrise on our first morning there. Looking into the bay, we saw sand colored sculpted hills.
Since we had the dinghy already set up when we put the second anchor in, we decided to motor over to the land and explore the old coast guard station and do a little hiking. Here are some of the photos.

Pacific Ocean Side

Malo anchored in the bay.
The next day, we took the dinghy to explore the Pacific side.
Views from the bay side.

Pelligans are in the area.

The joy of my day was rowing the dinghy!

This is how we wash dishes on the boat.

This is how I wash my hair with a solar shower we put out to heat up in the sun. It was not quite hot enough so I added some hot water to make it hotter.

The big test boat project was to oil the steering cables. We also did little more to investigate why the auto helm always squeaked. It was the most annoying squeak. I would helm just so I did not have to hear this squeak. Here Dan is oiling the cables.
In trying to determine where the squeak was coming from we got out the stethoscope. Here I am being a doctor and trying to listen for where the noise is the loudest. It helped, because we were then able to determine the source of the squeak. Dan figured a way to add motor oil and that solved the squeak. We were both so happy to figure this out. It made our next passage to Half Moon Bay much more enjoyable.
Here Malo sits happily in this beautiful anchorage. We enjoyed three nights we spent there. The only difficult thing was there were lots and lots of flies which made it unappealing to sit in the cockpit. For some reason the flies were not bothersome while we did our hikes on the land. Next stop - Half Moon Bay, California.
